Telling Mark: An Impressive Short Film

I've hardly seen any short films before. The first short film that I remember watching is Doodlebug -- only 'cause it's Christopher Nolan's first movie. But recently, I'm searching for good short films on YouTube and kinda getting addicted watching them. They are short, so you can complete watching it quicky; if they suck, never mind, you just lost a few minutes of your life; if they are good, write a blog post!

Telling Mark (2004) is one such short film that I watched which impressed me very much. You should give it a try:

So, did you see that coming? I sorta predicted it, but sorta didn't. I'm not sure if the director, Guy Ducker, was inspired by The Brown Bunny, which has a similar ending (there's a spoiler in this sentence) but only that the movie is terrible. I asked him, Guy Ducker, but he didn't reply me. May be he was inspired! Anyway, this is a better movie than "the controversial" The Brown Bunny.

Verdict: 4 out of 5 stars with a full score of 8/10 for a short film. Thumbs up to Guy Ducker.

Many apologies for not having replied to your message, I've been a bit snowed under of late.

I have to confess that I've not seen the film "The Brown Bunny". The poor reviews, and indeed Vincent Gallo's own public apology for the film, rather put me off. As a result I can claim no influence from the movie.

Meanwhile many thanks for your kind words about my film. If you liked this check out my film "Missed" (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/filmnetwork/A30678564) if you have a minute, or rather five minutes.

Thanks again,

Guy Ducker

Hi Guy,

Thanks for dropping in and commenting on this post. It's great to know that it was your original idea. I've seen your other works too, 'Missed' and 'Delusion'.

I liked Missed very much; it had a very deep meaning and a good message, and I found Delusion to be just fine.

Wishing you all the very best!
Srikanth
