I don't watch Hindi, Tamil, or Telugu movies for a good reason that most of them -- *clearing my throat* -- suck, and they are just plain dumb. It turned out, surprisingly, that 99 is a decent movie. It's not very entertaining per se, but at no point I was throwing my hands up in the air or waiting for a complete out-of-the-place song to end.
I'm sure I didn't get all the jokes 'cause of my limited understanding of Hindi; otherwise it might have been more entertaining for me; I don't know. This movie is definitely better than most of the over-hyped Bollywood movies you'll end up seeing. So, I recommend this if you're planning to see a movie this weekend or the next before they take it off the theaters. Don't have high hopes if someone tells you, "OMG!!! This movie is awesome!!" It's good but you may get disappointed if you expect a great entertainer.
Verdict: 3 out of 5 stars with a score of 5/10.
